Marvin Miller, age 92, of Algona passed away on Sunday April 26, 2020 at his son’s home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Marvin Claus Miller, the son of Harm and Gertrude (Lursen) Miller, was born on November 16, 1927 in Geneva, Iowa. Marv graduated from Geneva High School in 1945 and later received a 2 year business degree at Upper Iowa University. Marv served his country in the U.S. Army and was part of the 2nd Infantry Tank Division. On June 2, 1973 Marv was united in marriage with Sharon Lee Stock at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He had worked for Farmers Hybrid as a manager, retiring in 1985. Marv was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Algona Lions Club and the Over 50 Golf League. He enjoyed fishing, following Hawkeye football and basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. Left to cherish Marv’s memory is his wife of 46 years, Sharon; sons, Tim (Cathy) Miller of Sioux Falls, SD and Doug (Julia) Miller of Cherokee; step daughters, Karen (Doug) Symens of Hampton and Kathy Crawford of Phoenix, AZ; an adopted daughter, Christi Lee Ann of West Des Moines; twelve grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharon Sue Miller; a sister; and two brothers.
