On April 20, 2016, Marvin Leroy Carver passed on to be with his Lord and Savior after a severe and sudden illness.
Marvin was born March 12, 1943 to Luthera Cutler and Burrell Oliver Carver in Caldwell, Idaho. In 1960, Marvin joined the US Air Force and served honorably until his release.
Marvin met the love of his life, Nancy Lucile Duvall, and they were married in 1963. He returned to school in the 70’s and earned his high school diploma, then went on to O.I.C. College, where he received his degree in welding. He drove truck for most of his life and was an ardent craftsman as well.
Everyone who met Marvin loved him. He had such a big heart and would help anyone who needed it. He was a man of faith and gave his heart to the Lord in 1972. He truly believed God answered prayers and shared that belief as often as he could. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting through the years. He also loved to go to the chili cook-offs, where he competed as part of “The Tumble Weeds”.
Marvin was a loving husband and father, a loyal brother, and a friend to many, who gave of himself to anyone in need.
Marvin is survived by his sister, Sharron Coffman of Irrigon, OR; 3 children, Jim (Debbie) Carver of Caldwell; Tim (Shelly) Carver of Irrigon, OR; and LaShawnda Carver of Caldwell; 6 grandchildren; Jimmy (Melissa) Carver, Rachael (Tony) Trickett, Jacob Carver, Brandy (Lee) Oeleis, David Carr, and Robecca Carr; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lucille Carver of 52 years, 10 siblings, and his parents.
Marvin often said, “A man is only as good as his word”, a motto he lived fully his entire life.
