Marvin Lee Hanna, 85, Pendleton, died August 11, 2006 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born March 31, 1921 in Shirley, Indiana, and resided in Pendleton.

Lee served as a Director on the Central Indiana Power Board in Greenfield, Indiana for 30 years and was Secretary/Treasurer of the CIP Board for 19 of those years. He also served as a Director of the Wabash Valley Power Association Board for 16 years and was second Vice President of the Executive Board for three of those years.

He was a strong advocate for the rural electric cooperative system and its people. He had worked at Nicholson File from 1941-1964 and was also a farmer retiring in 1990. He attended school in both Middletown and Pendleton.

Lee served in the United States Army with the 3466 M.A.M. in England, France, and Belgium and participated in the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of Markleville North Christian Church and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married August 6, 1948, Gretchen Stohler Hanna; a brother, Robert Hanna & wife Joan of Middletown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and to Dr. Molina and Dr. McGill. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Gladie Hunt Hanna; brothers, Norman, Mark & James Hanna; and a sister, Martha Kindle.
