Marvin “Lee” Carr, 69, of Taneytown died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Born August 3, 1941 in Relay, Maryland, he was the son of the late Marvin & Bernice (Caterson) Carr. He was the beloved husband of Anne L. (Bennett) Carr, his wife of 48 years.
He owned and operated Lee Carr Roofing & Siding. He was an avid hunter and won awards for his coon dogs and beagles. He and his wife dedicated their lives to raising and caring for animals including quarter & paint horses and many kinds of dogs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father & grandfather, and a great friend.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Lee Ann Ott and husband Don of East Berlin, PA; son, Marvin “Chip” Carr and wife Angela of Union Bridge, MD; daughter, Karen Washington and husband Steve of York, PA; six grandchildren, Kristen Washington, Aaron Ott, Braden Cool, Amy Ott, Hailey Carr and Hannah Carr; one brother, Frederick Carr of Martinsburg, WV; two sisters, Rita Little of Taneytown, MD, and Linda Martin of New Windsor, MD; and many nieces, nephews & friends. He was predeceased by three brothers David, Robert and Buddy Carr & three sisters, Lucille Albright, Elsie Dorsey and Jean Miller.
