Marvin Lee Anthony Masters, 55, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife and family, on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at 7:15 pm. Marvin was born on December 9, 1963, in Galesburg. He was the son of Marvin Leo and Helen (Nickas) Masters.
He married the love of his life, Angela Jo Anderson, on April 5, 1986, in Galesburg. Together they have celebrated 32 years of marriage. Marvin is survived by his wife; his parents, Marvin and Helen of Galesburg; two children, Clinton (Ashley) Masters of Knoxville and Tabitha (Austin) Vick of Monmouth; two sisters, Kathleen (Dave) Klinefelter of Spring Valley and Holly (Patrick) Fox of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren, Hannah Burge, Emma Perdue, Emery Vick, Elijah Vick and Ava Masters; brother-in-law Roger (Alicia) Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his two puppies, Ruby and Delilah, whom were his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Anthony; his grandparents; and his mother and father-in-law. Marvin worked at Maytag for 22 years, and then ran his own contracting business for 30 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Marvin was an avid collector of Native American artifacts, loved to hunt and fish. He was a legend in the demolition derby circuit.
Marvin was a perfectionist and every project or job he tackled had “to be done right.” He was the most simple, sincere and selfless man a person could ever meet. Marvin was a family man. He was a great Papa and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He loved everyone, family, friends; but he loved Angela the most.
