Marvin Daniel Hagen, 63, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, after a short battle with aggressive cancer.
Marvin “Dan” was born September 4, 1958, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to Marvin and Betty Lou (Minshall) Hagen. He married Loreita “Lori” Smitley on October 16, 1976, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. Dan and Lori welcomed Kelsey to the family in 1997.
Dan worked at Hummel’s Nissan as an Auto¬motive Service Technician for 18 years. He loved going to flea markets and antique shows with Lori and Kelsey. He also collected antique trains, stamps and Coca Cola items. Every year, it was a tradition for Dan and Kelsey to attend the Iowa State Fair and went four times this year.
Dan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lori Hagen; daughter, Kelsey Hagen; brother, Terry (Pam) Hagen of Perry, IA; brother-in-law, Doug (Sharon) Smitley of Waukee, IA; as well as numer¬ous aunts, uncles and cousins along with many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Linda Lemon.
