Marvin Edgar Wilson, 69, of Elkhart, passed away at his home at 10:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, following an extended illness.
He was born in Harrisburg, Ark., on Dec. 20, 1943, to the late Vernon Wilson and Mamie (Kelsey) Wilson Regenos.
Surviving are his daughters Marcella Brough and Maria Wilson, both of Elkhart; sons Marvin Wilson Jr. of Muskegon Heights, Mich., and Arthur Wilson of Niles, Mich.; sisters Margaret (Steve) Kilmer of Elkhart, Maggie (Robert) Guthrie of Plant City, Fla., and Martha L. (Eddie) Rohl of Niles; brothers Elmer Regenos and Leslie Smith of Elkhart and Vernon (Betty) Wilson and Ray Smith of Niles; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Doris Wilson, and brother, Richard Wilson, preceded him in death.
Marvin worked many years in the maintenance department of several area RV manufacturing facilities, retiring in 2006 because of his health. He was quite an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying canoeing, fishing, rock collecting, nature walks, bird watching and playing golf. He also liked woodworking and reading westerns, and was an avid American history buff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War.
