Marvin Dewayne Nix earthly journey began on September 16, 1953 to the parentage of the late John and Mrs. Irene Nix Mack in Sylacauga, Alabama.
At an early age, Marvin accepted Christ as his Lord and savior and united with Harper Spring Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama. As a youth, Marvin was educated in the Talladega County school system and later became a 1970 graduate of B. B. Comer High School.
Along Marvin’s life’s journey, he met and fell in love with Robbie B. McCain. Marvin and Robbie later prove to be inseparable and united in Holy Matrimony on September 28, 1978.
Marvin accepted his heavenly wings, as he peacefully answered the Master’s call on August 8, 2021 at his residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father, John Nix, grandson, Kannon Johnson, brother, Larry Nix, uncles, James “Sugarman” Nix, and Sam Jones Hale, Aunties, Mae Florence Funderburg, Catherine “Cat”, brother in laws, John McCain and Jimmie McCain and grandparents.
Marvin’s love and memories will forever be remember and cherished by his loving wife of 43 years, Robbie Nix of Sylacauga, AL; three children, Corless Young, Tosha (Bernard) Lawler, and Maynetta Nix; four grandchildren, Bobby McCain, TaKaylin Nix, Omri Young and Eilis Young; great grand children, Skylyn Nix and Khylon Nix; a loving mother, Irene Nix Mack; brothers, Donald “Duck” (Geraldine) Nix, John “Homebrew” Nix, Derrick Nix, Elvis “Eb” (Wendy) Nix, Jim Nix, Benny Nix all of Sylacauga, AL; Wesley Nix of Temple, GA; Thaddeus “Butch” (Rita) Johnson, of NJ; Larmar Nix of CA; and Larry Nix of NY; sisters, Tracy (Maurice) Johnson, Cassandra (Rudolph) Varner, Tammy Jones; two sister in laws, Mildred McCain and Gloria Spidell both of Sylacauga, AL; brother in laws, Joel (Edna) McCain and Sherman (Deborah) Burns of North Carolina, Kerwin Burns, and Joe Elliot Simmons; aunts, Mae “Pie” Dates, Monalita (Ray Charles) Borden, and Gloria (Rev. Anthony) Dykes all of Sylacauga, AL; uncles, Randall “Ran” Hale, Michael Hale, Willie Frank Hale all of Sylacauga, AL; special friends, Richard “Pip” Glenn, Benny Clopton , Bonnie Thomas and Gloria; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
