Marvin C. McBride, 88, Wabash, IN (formerly of Huntington), passed away at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Wabash where he had lived for the past 4 1/2 years. Mr. McBride was born August 17, 1922 in East Chicago, IN to Raymond and Ottie Curtis McBride. His parents preceded him in death. Marvin married Beverly J. Walters on July 18, 1947 in Spencer, IN.
She preceded him in death August 24, 2002. Mr. McBride was a bus garage mechanic and custodian with the Huntington County School Corporation for 15 years. He retired in 1985. He attended Union Church. He was an army veteran of World War II, serving in Burma, India, and Cuba. Marvin was a member of the V.F.W. #2689 Survivors include: two daughters: Pamela (Jay) Wolfe, Andrews, IN; Penny (Ken) Collins, Wabash, IN, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Marvin was preceded in death by two brothers: Leslie McBride and Ernest McBride and a sister: Florence DeWitte.
