Marvin Lewis Broesder, the son of Lewis and Loretta (Walker) Broesder, was born on June 23, 1940 in Kossuth County, Iowa. He graduated from Algona High School in 1959. On June 13, 1963 Marvin was united in marriage with Virginia Barton at the LuVerne Methodist Church in LuVerne, Iowa. Marvin was first and foremost a farmer who loved his cattle. He also worked in maintenance at Murphy Brown and Pioneer. Marvin’s pride and joy was his family including all his “adopted” children and grandchildren. He loved taking care of his cattle and his dogs. Marvin enjoyed camping at Smith Lake, fishing, attending various fairs and attending the World Dairy Expo. He was a member of Happy Scrappers of Good Hope Methodist Church and card club.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 55 years, Virginia; daughter, Tammy (Don) McVicker of Webster City; sons, Tim Broesder of Livermore and Terry Broesder of Lone Rock; five grandchildren, Jason, Ami, Jeremy (Missie), Deitra and Addy; seven great-grandchildren, Katina, Logan, Lane, Laci, Reed, Parker and Loni; his beloved dogs, JoJo, PeeWee, Bell, Patch, Peanut, Buddy and Blazer; sisters, Laura Voigt and Marian Gerdes; sisters-in-law, Ruth Barton and Eleanor Barton and brother-in-law, Donald Kruse. He was preceded in death by his parents; dog Mikie; sister-in-law, Alice Barton and brothers-in-law, James Voigt and Raymond Gerdes.
