Marvella A. Hiles, 87, of Anderson, passed away on January 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 5, 1934, in Anderson, Indiana. Marvella graduated from Anderson High School, class of 1952. She retired as a data processor for the Madison County Courthouse. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Christian Church.
Marvella is survived by her children, Richard (Debra) Hiles and Darlene Hayden; grandchildren, Jamie (Paul) Halstead, Jessica Hiles, Holli (Omar Martinez) Hayden, Danielle (Coty) Thomas, Jesse Looper, Melissa (Ron) Weaver, Charles (Holly) Hayden III; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne (Marion) Soverns, Charles Soverns, John (Brenda) Soverns; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Doyle and Mary Elizabeth Soverns, the love of her life, James Ernest Hiles; her beloved son, Russell A. Hiles, siblings, Robert (Dorothy) Soverns, Betty (Mack) Gunter; sisters-in-law, Donna Soverns, and Marie (Albert) Tansler; son-in-law, Charles Hayden Jr.; grandson, Richard Allen Hiles, and father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Hazel Hiles.
