Frank, Martin (Marty), 71 of Mesa, Arizona formerly of Napa, California passed away on October 1, 2015. Marty was born on July 27, 1944 in Concord, California to his parents Vincent and Alice Frank. After graduating from Clayton Valley High School Class of 1962, he attended San Francisco State University where he earned his BA and MA degrees in Psychology. While attending college he met and married his wife, Ellen, on August 3, 1968. He began his career as a School Psychologist with Napa Valley Unified School District in 1971. He also served as the Director of Special Education for Lake County Schools and began his private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He retired from Napa Schools in 2005 and his private practice in 2010. During his professional years, Mary was a staunch advocate to improve the lives of children and their families. He did the important work that made a positive difference. Marty was an enthusiastic sports fan following his beloved San Francisco Giants, 49ers, Golden State Warriors and Arizona Rattlers Arena Football teams. He was an avid hobbyist having designed and constructed model train layouts for his grandchildren. He was an enthusiastic collector of Hot Wheels model cars. Marty loved 1950 and 60’s Rock and Roll (he could name that tune in one note) and enjoyed researching rare coins and stamps. Marty will be remembered as a caring, compassionate and thoughtful man with a quiet strength and steadfast spirit. He is survived by his wife Ellen and his children, Daniel, Lisa and Steven, their spouses as well as his amazing grandchildren. They will always remember their Papa for all the wonderful times playing games, running their trains and laughing at his silly jokes. He also leaves behind a multitude of cherished relatives and friends in California and Arizona where he and Ellen retired to in 2012.
