Marty (Butch) Alfrey Jr died Tuesday, Nov 30th, 2021 peacefully in his sleep with family surrounding him. He was born May 30 1959 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines Iowa to Marty Alfrey Sr and Bernadine Alfrey (Freeman).
He attended Hoyt Middle School and East High School and grew up in Sheridan Park. He had many years with the City of Des Moines Street department until retirement.
Butch spent several years with his girlfriend Shellie Dolash they together had a daughter Jessica Alfrey. Later in 1996 he joined in marriage to Debbie Alfrey she had 2 young sons Tyler Bueher and Zach (Katie) Buehrer they quickly became a strong family unit.
Butch had many passions which included Nascar (Dale Earnhardt), Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, Camping and watching little league sports, and many AAU tournament weekends. Butch’s first love was his motorcycles which he spent many hours riding with his best friend Tim Johnson and brother Russ.
Butch enjoyed life to its fullest. Always the main attraction, very charismatic, always supportive, very genuine.
In addition to his children Tyler Buehrer, Jessica Alfrey, and Zach (Katie) Buehrer he will be greatly missed by his 2 grandbabies, Sister, Laura(Pat) Mullin, and Brother Russ Alfrey, niece, nephews, and great-nieces.
