Martin Sherwood Levrant, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and brother, was born August 26, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York. He married at a young age and joined the U.S. Air Force as a teenager, relocating to Little Rock, Arkansas, Denver, Colorado, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire during his seven years in the service. By age 23, he was the father of 3 daughters, Eva, Michele, and Jeannie.

After learning the basics of electronics in the air force, he became a self-taught electronics test engineer and had a long and successful career in the aeronautics and marine defense systems industry on Long Island. He advanced to the head of the engineering department at Hartmann Systems. After losing his first wife, Rosalie, at the age of 38, he was fortunate to find love again when he met Elaine, who he called Super Chick, a year later. He was given another opportunity at fatherhood when Michael and Cara entered his life. For forty-three years Elaine and Marty had a wonderful marriage.

His love for his family was what gave him the most pleasure in life. The unions of their children to Emmett, Jeff, Dan, Michelle, and Larry, and then the birth of each grandchild – Derek, Adam, Rosalie, Matthew, Amanda, Nathan, Adin, Sydney, and Madison – gave him joy, which only grew with their marriages to Dominique, Jackie, and Nick, and with the birth of his greatgrandchildren Darcy and Devon. He was a talented and creative man who loved woodworking, golf, fishing, doing puzzles, enjoying cocktails, and dining out. Doing these things with his family was his greatest joy.
