Freeport- Martin R. Balsamo, 75, of Freeport died Friday November 3, 2006 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born August 9, 1931 in Freeport he was the son of Martin and Anna Balsamo. He was a graduate of Freeport Aquin High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. He and Mary Stein were married on October 28, 1961 in Freeport. Marty worked many years at Micro Switch. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed biking, cross country skiing and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Mary of Freeport, daughter Lori Balsamo and son in law John McCarthy both of Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Nick.
