Martin J. “Marty” Kwedar, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his home.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Vielandi) Kwedar for 47 years. He is also survived by his daughter Kelly (m. Jacob Titus); his son Martin (m. Laura (Minch) Kwedar); granddaughters Ruby Titus and Lucy Kwedar; his two sisters, Frances Burch and Lyn Randers; his brother, Charles Kwedar; and many brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony Kwedar and Evelyn (Petrauskas) Kwedar, and his older brother, Anthony Kwedar.

He was a veteran of the Air Force.  He worked at International Harvester as a Service Manager and then Peterson, Howell & Heather, Inc. as a Fleet Manager.  He was a talented handyman who could fix anything, a fisherman who never came home without a catch, and a father who was always excited to coach his children in youth sports.

After having a paralyzing stroke in 2005 and a prolonged illness, he lived with strength and dignity.  The family wishes to express sincere thanks to family and friends for their care and compassion during Marty’s illness, especially Pat Williams, Lynne Riddle, Evie Boudreaux, and Vicki Weiland.  The family also thanks the many family and friends that offered prayers and support over the last 12 years.
