Marty Kuhn, 56, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, at Edward Hospital & Health Services in Naperville.
Marty was born February 22, 1956 in Ottawa to John and Marilyn (O’Neil) Kuhn. He married GayAnn Ninness on June 23, 1979 in Ottawa. He was a graduate of Marquette High School and Illinois State University where he received his B.A. Degree in Education and his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a teacher for 34 years and the Department Head of Special Education at Ottawa Township High School.
He also coached and was the student council advisor. He had a passion for teaching and believed every child could be successful. He is survived by his wife, GayAnn; his mother, Marilyn Kuhn of Ottawa; a daughter, Jessica Kuhn of Ottawa; a brother, Steve (Shelly) Kuhn of Ottawa and a sister, Chris (Tom) Miller of Ottawa, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kuhn. Pallbearers will be Ed, John, Stu, Tim and Marty Miller, John Nelson, John and Alex Kuhn, Brad and Jeff Ninness, Zack Smrt, Aaron Steiner and Vince Maietta.
