Reverend Martin Edward Pierce, United Methodist Minister and educator, went to be with His Lord and Savior on January 20, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 17, 1944 in Hamilton, Ohio to William F. and Nellie M. Pierce. He attended Keiser High School in Dayton, Ohio, then joined the Marine Corps. and served as a combat soldier, front line special forces, and troop leader in Viet Nam for 2 tours. At the end of his second tour he was wounded in battle.

Martin continued to serve the Lord throughout his life, mentoring, counseling and witnessing to others in his everyday life in his kind, gentle and caring manner.

He is survived by his loving family: wife Suzanne, stepchildren Jennifer Rinc Morrow (Todd) and Jonathan Rinc, grandchildren Trevor and Addison Morrow, twin sister Mary Lou Rehling (Bob), sister Carolyn Heiser (Harry), sister Patty Shroyer (Phil), extended family Julia Hewson Breakey (David), their daughter Elizabeth Breakey and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
