Martin E. Steiger, 80, of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away January 23, 2020. Marty was born July 09, 1939 in Buffalo, New York. His parents were Henry Martin Steiger and Caroline Kraffert Steiger.
Marty married Gloria Doner on September 19, 1964, in Sherkston, Ontario Canada and were happily married for 55 years. Together they raised 2 children: Scott Martin Steiger (Marie) and Sherri Steiger Angove (John).
Marty is survived by his wife, Gloria Steiger, his children, Scott Steiger and Sherri Angove, grandchildren Kendall Steiger, Cali Angove, Cole Steiger and brother Milton (Skip) Steiger. He was predeceased by his older brother, Henry Martin Steiger Jr.
Marty rose to the rank of Lieutenant in the Buffalo Fire Department and retired after 22 years in 1983 at the very young age of 44. While in the Fire Department, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
Marty’s ties to the northeast remained strong as they spent summers at their cottage on Big Gull Lake, Ontario Canada where they enjoyed fishing, boating and socializing with family and friends.
