Mrs. Martha W. Francis, Greenwood, passed away on the morning of Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Community Hospital South. She was 96. Martha was born March 26, 1923 in Washington, Indiana a daughter of the late Clyde M. and Ursula D. (Arthur) Wallace.
Martha proudly served her country in the United States Army as a Registered Nurse during World War II. She had worked for 12 years as a Nurse for Indianapolis Public Schools retiring in 1985.
She is survived by her son David W. Francis; her grandson Kevin (Kasey) Francis as well as a great-granddaughter Charlotte Francis.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in passing by her husband of 39 years Robert W. Francis; a daughter-in-law Bernetta Francis; and her siblings Arthur (Opal) Wallace, William E. Wallace, Joseph H. (Emma) Wallace, Elizabeth (John) Belcher, Watis (Kathy) Wallace and Edythe (Ralph) Bolden.
