Martha Nadelhoffer, age 102, of Algona, died on Thursday May 14, 2015 at the Algona Manor Care Center. Martha Alma Haynes, the daughter of Pearly C. and Anna (Cook) Haynes, was born on August 9, 1912 in Wesley, Iowa. She graduated from Wesley High School in 1930. On September 6, 1941 Martha was united in marriage with William Nadelhoffer in Hammond, Indiana. They lived in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for nearly 30 years. After Bill’s death, Martha moved to Algona in the mid 1990’s. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire. In her younger years she and Bill belonged to the Square Dance Club in Eau Claire. Martha made the outfits for members of the club. She enjoyed fishing trips with Bill, gardening, flower gardening and canning. Left to cherish Martha’s memory are her nephews, John Hood of Algona, Tom Farnum of Kansas City, MO and Jimmy Haynes of Tennessee; nieces, Susan Huffman of Leavenworth, WA, Shelly Gardner of California, Cathie Haynes of Sebastopol, CA, Barbara Solheim of Burlington and Ann Boret; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Clifford, Harley, Irvin and Pearly Clifford Haynes; and sisters, Evelyn Saunche, Arlene Hood, Irene Howard and Donna Gardner.
