Martha Myrick was born on August 24, 1937, to the late Steve and Francis Mae Clark in Newport, Arkansas. She was the sixth child born to this union.
Martha was educated at Carver High School in Augusta, Arkansas, where she graduated. She later went on to receive her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in February 1970.
Martha was united in Holy Matrimony August 3, 1965 until the homegoing of Mr. William Myrick Jr. in 2013.
Martha was employed with John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County for numerous years and later with John J.
Martha enjoyed numerous activities in her free time including gardening, playing cards, a game of Bingo, cooking for her family, watching her daytime soaps (Y&R and B&B) and rooting on the Chicago sports teams (Bulls and Bears) each season.
The Lord called Martha home on August 7, 2022.
Martha leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Bettina Denise Myrick, one sister Dorothy Parker (Willie) Brunson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
God saw her getting weary; so, He did what He though was best.
He came and stood beside her and whispered, “Come and Rest.”
She bade no one a last farewell, not even a good-by.
She was gone before we knew it and only God knows why.
