Martha “Martie” Jayne (Hodge) Winningham, 76, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Martie was born February 20, 1946 in Indianapolis to the late Sterling Pardue and Myrtle “Jayne” (Durbin) Kelly.

Martie loved her family and friends and her dog, Rascal. They will miss her dearly. Martie and her husband, Dallas, relished their time together traveling in a camper, by motorcycle, or car. She was a great Elvis fan and knew all of his songs and movies by heart. Martie enjoyed watching Jeopardy and playing games, especially Yahtzee and Euchre. She worked for many years at Hooks Drugs and CVS Pharmacy and brought comfort, joy, make-up tips, and a sense of belonging to many in our community. Her creative product displays were customer favorites.

She was a Bluebird leader and a band mom. Martie taught several young people how to crochet and do needle point, but mostly she taught them how to have fun and try new things. She enjoyed watching her kids and grand kids in jazz band, worship band, marching band, and color guard contests. Throughout her life, Martie liked making crafts for others inspired by her day-long trips to Hobby Lobby. We will all miss her banana split cake.

Martie is survived by three daughters, Mahala “Hayley” (Eric) Frandsen of Bloomington, IN, Kimmy (Matt) Rogers of Franklin, IN, and Tiffany Winningham of Greenwood, IN; four grandchildren she adored, Ryker (Carrie) and Luke (Kylie) Frandsen of Indianapolis, Allison Brown of Greenwood, and Andy Brown of Franklin, and one great-grandson who brought her great joy, Solomon Frandsen. She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters: Hillus and LaWayne Pardue, Tawana Ernstes, Bonnie Cox, Charlotte Harp, and Becky Hensley.

Martie was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Claxter Winningham, her siblings, Kenneth and Billy Pardue, Jacqueline Brattain, Patricia Mitchell, and Virginia Cox, and her parents, Sterling Pardue and Myrtle “Jayne” Kelly.
