Martha Marie Prairie, 97, of Momence, died Thursday (March 18, 2010) in Kankakee. Mrs. Prairie was a homemaker.
She was born April 27, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Nels and Winifred Halverson Johnson. Her husband, Cecil Prairie, died in 1982.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Audrew Prairie of Momence, David and Judy Prairie of Chebanse; one daughter, Winifred Beebe of Woodstock, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are one son, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, four grandsons, three great-grandchildren four brothers and two sisters.
