Mrs. Braden was born June 4, 1917 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Eli and Milan Shackelford Goode. She peacefully made her eternal transition on Thursday, November 24, 2016 in Decatur, AL surrounded by her family and friends.
Mother Braden accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at First Baptist Church in Courtland and was a member of Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Church where she served faithfully as a Mother. She attended Rocky Hill School and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; six sisters, Mary Goode, Katie Goode, Annie Mae Hearns, Lizzie Owens, Sadie Benjamin and Irene Davis.
She is survived by: nine children, Shirley Owens of Marion, OH, Jimmy (Faye) Braden, Rose Elliott, Milan Braden, Jeanette Young, Robert Braden, Rufus (Connie) Braden all of Decatur, Anna Draper and J E Davis both of Huntsville; 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; a devoted niece, Matteva Simpson; a special cousin, Annie Davis and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
