Martha L. Cook Johnson, 85, Pendleton, died April 1, 2011, at Fall Creek Retirement Center.

She was born May 3, 1925, in Anderson, Indiana, and was a lifelong resident of Madison County. A 1943 graduate of Anderson High School, Martha was a homemaker and beautician. She owned the Mar-Lee Salon in Chesterfield for several years. She was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Highland Band Boosters.

Survivors include her children, Connie Hopp of Decatur, IL, Dennis Susan Johnson of Fayetteville, NC, Daniel Patty Johnson of McCordsville, IN and Le’Ann Dan Key of Parker, CO; sister, Nellie Watson of Anderson; nieces, Diana Johnson and Sharolyn Barnett; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Jim Grady, Christopher Lynelle Hopp, Jennifer Mark Miller, Jeff Sara Johnson, Mindy Bob Humphrey, Megan Key, Valerie Ryan Kostka, and David Key; eleven great-grandchildren and one to arrive this month.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Johnson, whom she married July 8, 1944; parents, Harry & Hazel McCord Cook; grandson, Michael Johnson and daughter-in-law, Pam Bousman Johnson.
