Martha Joann Benton, 86, of Aurora and Parker, Colorado passed away on January 10, 2020. She was born in Colorado to Charles and Arlein (Ames) Costa on November 12, 1934. Martha was a graduate of Cal State Fullerton earning a BA in Education. She enjoyed 25 years of teaching, most of those years as a 4th grade teacher. She loved arts and crafts and was a member of the Country Home Club. She and her husband Richard were Parker Walmart cashiers for years and active with the Parker Senior Center.
Martha was married to Richard Kenneth Benton for 68 wonderful years. They were married in Springer, New Mexico on May 18, 1952.
Martha was predeceased by her husband, Richard Kenneth Benton only 17 days prior to her passing, and a daughter Denise Day. She leaves behind many that will miss her dearly; a son, Mike Benton (Robin) of Monument, CO, a daughter Sherida Hyde (Dave) of Aurora, CO, a daughter Joann Baird (Rodney), of Boerne, TX. Martha and Richard leave behind 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
