Anderson – Martha J. Phillips Hedgecraft, 76, Anderson, died August 22, 2002 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana. She was born February 16, 1926 in Jennings County, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana.
She lived in Anderson since 1945 except for the 10 years she lived in Iowa. She retired from General Motors in 1991 from Sioux City, Iowa and had worked previously for 18 years at Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson.
She worked at Ruth’s Fabrics in Anderson prior to 1991. She was an avid quilt maker. She is survived by her Three Daughters: Sharon & husband Joe Mansell of Carmel. Bobbie & husband Doug Valentine of Pendleton. Karla & husband Rich Nathan of Lawrence, Kansas. One Brother: Robert & wife Wanda Phillips of Greenwood. Nine Grandchildren: Shelli Lutton, Andy Anderson, Aubrey Weaver, Jo Renda Weaver, Stevie Aley, Stacey Valentine, Shannon Valentine, Ryan Nathan and Adam Nathan. Eleven Great Grandchildren: Jimmy Lutton, Toby Lutton, Josh Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Jonah Anderson, Madison Smoot, Chantel Aley, Hannah Aley, Conner Marcum, Mikeala Howard and Trey Howard. Friends: Barney & Bootie Hall.
She was preceded in death by her father: Crozier Phillips and mother: Mary Luse Smith. Services will be Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 4:00 PM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel. 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson., with Rev. Ed Helms officiating. Private Burial will be at a later date in Dupont Cemetery-Depont, Indiana .
