Helen Davis Leetham, 88, passed away on November 26, 2008. Helen was born July 18, 1920 in Salem, Utah. She was the eldest child of Amelia Sheppard Davis and Charles Ivan Davis. In 1939 she married Maurice Leetham. Helen and Maurice came to Boisein 1945 and have made their home here ever since.
Helen never met a child or animal that she didn’t mother. She raised not only her own three children, but had a hand in raising numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren as well. She even hand-raised an orphaned baby sparrow hawk that her son Jim brought home from a camping trip. Helen and Maurice’s home was always a warm and safe haven for anyone or anything that entered.
Helen was an active member of TOPS for over 36 years, the past 35 as a KOPS. She was always ready to listen to and encourage her fellow TOPS members in their struggle to take off unwanted pounds.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, June Simpson, Emajean Collins, and Afton Johnson; and two grandsons, Don Smith and Ross Smith. She is survived by her husband, Maurice Leetham; her sister, Fawn Shell; brother, Paul Deuel; her son, Jim Leetham; two daughters, Helen Smith and Sharon Miller; two grandchildren, ShaRee Hansen and Colin Leetham; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
