Martha Heinzmann 84, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Centralia Manor surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born February 27, 1935 in Centralia, the daughter of Hugh McCown and Alta (Powell) McCown. She married Paul Heinzmann on June 12, 1955 in Centralia, and he survives her in Centralia.
In addition to her husband Paul of 64 years, she is survived by five children: Nancy Myers and husband Mark of Centralia, Dean Heinzmann and wife Sara of Peoria, Roger Heinzmann and wife Valorie of Walnut Hill, Janet Heinzmann and Tom DeMaio of Charlottesville, VA, and David Heinzmann and wife Donna of Crystal Lake; eleven grandchildren: Melinda and Abbie Steil, Megan Myers, Michelle Myers, Alex Heinzmann, Drew Heinzmann, Marc Heinzmann and wife Amanda, Ayla Whittinghill and husband Cody, Ryan DeMaio, Matt Heinzmann and wife Mandy, Taylor Heinzmann, and Kyle Heinzmann; two great grandchildren: Madelyn and Addison; sister-in-law: Virginia Heinzmann; niece and nephew: Robert McCown, Jr. and wife Amy of Salem and Kathy McCown of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Hugh and Alta McCown; one brother: Robert McCown.
Martha was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Centralia, where she previously served as the church organist and Choir Director. She was a member of the BPW, a volunteer for the Red Cross, involved with the Centralia Cultural Society, and a Raccoon Rambler. She served on the Centralia High School Board for 16 years and worked as the secretary in the attendance office. She worked for Centralia Manor Nursing Home as marketing director. Martha was a Business Office Manager for Dr. Jerry Beguelin for many years, from where she retired.
