Martha G. Wilson, 80, of Creston, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at Brookdale in Wooster following a brief illness.

Martha was born March 21, 1936 at home in Marshallville to the late Robert C. and Genevieve (Taylor) Wertz and was a graduate of Smithville High School. She married James Harry Wilson on March 4, 1956 and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and their 80th birthdays with a family celebration. Prior to her marriage Martha worked for the Etling Window Division of Weather-Seal in Orrville and while Jim was in the service she went to California and worked at the Barstow Police Dept. in the office later joining him in Hinesville, GA when he was recalled. She was a homemaker and a school bus driver for Norwayne Local Schools for nearly 20 years.

From the age of twelve, Martha played the piano and later the organ for her church in Marshallville and after her marriage, she played the organ at Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wooster where she was a member for the past 60 years.

Surviving are her husband James; children, Vicky (Vaughn) Puster of Lakeville, Genevieve (Brian) Jordan of Frankfort, OH, Ernest (Stacey) Wilson of Chesterfield, MI and Dan Wilson of Geneva; 3 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Sharon) Wertz of Marshallville; a sister, Evelyn Kramer of Burbank; a sister-in-law, Mary Wertz of Marshallville; brother-in-law, Harold Hauenstine of Dalton and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Norma Wilson of Wooster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother David Wertz and a sister, Shirley Hauenstine.
