Martha Evelyn Smith, 88 of Newburg, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on October 25, 1926 in Kingwood, daughter of the late Raymond and Clarice Mae Taylor Burke. Martha was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. She loved collecting bells and embroidering quilts. Martha is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Clifford H Smith, three daughters, Sandra Chambers and husband James, Chillicothe, OH, Billie Sue Louk and husband James Louk, Howesville, Carolyn Riggs and husband Roger, Rowlesburg; one sister Virginia Braham “Toots”, Kingwood; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda L McCrobie in 2009, four brothers and six sisters.
