A native of Jasper, AL, she was a retired LPN and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Emma was a substitute teacher for years in Chalmette, LA and Picayune, MS. Emma was a loving mother, Granny, sister, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred C. Brooks, Sr. and Flossie Lena Johnson Brooks; her husband, Clyde M. Welch, Sr.; her son, Clyde M. Welch, Jr.; her sisters, Bondell Adams, Gaynell Burks, and Catherine “Kate” Hycth; and her brother, Alfred C. Brooks, to cherish her memory are her children, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Welch, Patricia Gardere, and Glenda (Johnny) Dwyer; 4 grandchildren,Clyde M. “Kippy” Welch, III, Michael Wood, Melissa (Kevin) Mesa, and Travis Dwyer; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Ruby McCullar and Renee Brooks; and her brother, Frank (Pat) Brooks.
