Martha Emeline Caldwell passed away on Nov. 15, 2021, just shy of her 102nd birthday. She was born on Dec. 13, 1919, in Anderson, to Berman Warner and Lulu Warner Hughes.
She was married for 70 years to Richard “Rip” Caldwell. She was known for her sweet nature, beautiful smile, gardening, and baking delicious pies. She loved America, Christmas, singing hymns, and birds, especially cardinals. Last five years, she was lovingly cared for by the staff at Northview Health and Living. She was the well-loved matriarch of the family, who will be greatly missed.
Martha is survived by her children, Pamela (Ron) Coletti, Richard L. (Linda) Caldwell II, Beverly Bolinger; brother, Owen “Sonny” (Dee) Hughes; grandchildren, Lora Caldwell, Katharine Caldwell (Scott) Anderson, Megan Coletti Rector, Blaine (Charity Voth) Caldwell, Alyssa (Jason Hensley) Coletti, Tyler (Mackenzie) Bolinger, Nicholas (Jean) Bolinger; great-grandchildren, Robin Tubbs, Alec Anderson, Jack Anderson, Henry Rector, Max Bolinger, Maverick Bolinger, Beatrix Hensley, Norah Bolinger, Rosamund Hensley; great-great-granddaughter, Adrianna Diaz; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Amelia Sheward; granddaughter, Andrea L. Caldwell; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Eric Anderson.
