Martha Barton Polk, 94, of Eustis, passed from this life on Monday, August 16, 2021, at her home following a brief illness. Born in Nauvoo, Alabama, Martha had resided in Eustis for the past year and a half moving there from Wildwood where she had resided for 37 years. She had also been a resident of Fort Deposit, AL from 1969-76. Martha was a homemaker and a member of the Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Eustis.

While living in Wildwood, she had been a very involved member of the Wildwood Church of Christ. Loved by those near her age and young alike, Martha will be remembered for her innate ability to bring people together. She had a gift to reach those who were hurting or distanced from family and help them reconcile and reconnect with family and friends. She will be forever loved by the many lives she influenced and touched throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lonnie L. Polk, a daughter, Gail Mitchell, her parents, Wesley M. Barton and Rettie Waddle Barton as well as her siblings, Merle Hightower, Earl Barton, Dorothy Camp, Victor Barton, Lucille Smith, William “Billy” Barton, Bryce Barton, Helen Barton, and Morris Barton.

Martha is survived by 3 daughters, Glenda Baker (Dan) of Cambridge, NE, Barbara Dillon (Kevin) of Florence, AL, and Lynn Overturf (Rick) of Raleigh, NC, son-in-law, Owen Mitchell (Lauren) of Eustis, a sister, Mary Pruitt of Orlando, a brother, Foy Barton (Jo) of Orlando, 8 grandchildren, Kacie Lester (Nate), Logan Baker (Erin), Richard Dillon (Jessica), Kyle Mitchell (Lynea), Kenna Duarte (Diogo), Whitney Derfuss (Ryan), Logan Overturf (Cari) and Jackson Overturf (Haley) and 5 great-grandchildren, Trajan Lester, Canaan Baker, Elijah Dillon, Judah Duarte, and Apollo Duarte.
