YORKTOWN – Martha E. Thornburg, 98, of Yorktown passed away on January 13, 2018, at Yorktown Manor.
She was born August 29, 1919 in Lafayette, Indiana to Maria and Samuel Baltimore. She lived in several cities in Central Indiana but eventually moved to Muncie. She worked at Ross Grocery Store, Wilson Junior High, and Lowry’s Candy Store.
She is survived by her sons, Mikel (Brenda) Thornburg of Yorktown and Paul Keith (Lynn) Thornburg of Alexandria, Indiana; 6 granddaughters; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Barton Thornburg; two sisters, Alberta and Lilly; 1 daughter, Rhonda (Thornburg) Blanton Corn; and one granddaughter, Lisa.
