Martha E. Maienbrook, age 85, of Monon passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at the White County Memorial Hospital. Martha had been a resident of Monon since 1966. She was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on August 18, 1925 to John T. and Celestia Joy (Wiles) Warne. On April 11, 1950, in Rensselaer, she married Bernard “Bernie” C. Maienbrook who passed away December 2, 2005.
Surviving are her children, Rebecca A. Green, and Russell D. Maienbrook both of Monon, IN, Deborah K. (Steve) Tiede of Rensselaer, IN, Cindy J. Maienbrook of Monticello, IN and Ty A. Maienbrook of Crown Point, IN; three grandchildren, Craig A. (Lori) Green of Monticello, Brandy L. (Josh) Shoaff of Fort Wayne, IN and Chanda N. (Fiancee’ Craig Byroad) Tiede of Rensselaer and two great-grandchildren, Klae G. Green and Chalista Joy Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, John and Gerald Warne. Martha graduated from Rensselaer High School with the class of 1943 and from Hammond Beauty College. She was a licensed beautician and barber, owning Martha’s Beauty Shop until 1952, when she sold it to care for her family. Martha was an avid Cubs fan.
