Diane’s best friend of many years, Peggy Sue Merrell found that Diane’s prayers had been answered. God had called her home. Health problems had kept Diane from pursuing her nursing degree from UAB’s School of Nursing. She was preceded in death by her father, Doyle LeRoy Cook and her nephew, Christopher M. McKay. She is survived by her mother, Martha Mae McLendon Cook, her sister, Sherry Cook McKay, nieces Casee and Jordan McKay, great nieces, Carlee Harding, Baylee McKay, and Renny Booker. Uncles and aunts, James E. McLendon (Pauline) and Byron A. McLendon (Jean), along with many cousins.
