Martha Benjie Heal (Nee: Ashby) passed away at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in Mt. Holly on Wednesday at the age of 92. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Benjamin and Fannie Ashby. She was a graduate of Burlington High School Class of 1940 and went on to receive her Education Degree from Glassboro State College.
She taught in the Marlton and Beverly School Districts for a few years. She then began her career as a mother, farmer and business partner at C.S.Heal Farm on Salem Road with her husband Charles. Benjie and Charles ran the farm on Salem Road, from 1946 until 2005. In their spare time they enjoyed going to Florida and she spent the last several years at the sewing machine making many fine things.
Wife of the late Charles, she is survived by her loving children and their families. A son and daughter in law: Charles S., Jr. “Chuck” and Virginia “Ginny”. A daughter and son in law: Patricia Lee “Pat” Myers and Andrew “Andy”. Her grandchildren: Jennifer L. Chiprich, Eric S. Heal, Sara B. Mehaffey and a great-granddaughter Hannah.
