Martha Arrants Davis, 86, passed away on June 3, 2018 in Lexington. Born and raised in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of the late Otis James “Buck” and Mae McCaskill Arrants. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert E. Davis. Jr. and brother, James Otis Arrants. Martha was a graduate of Camden High School, The Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and The Charity Hospital School of Anesthesia in New Orleans. She also received her BS in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. During her career, she worked in hospitals in Camden, Manning, Charlotte, Columbia, New Orleans, and Birmingham. After receiving her BSN, Martha worked as a nurse for the Department of Health and Environmental Control and as a school nurse for the Kershaw County School District.

She is survived by her son, Robert O. Davis (Rae) of Chapin SC, and daughters Sara Davis-Hayman (Russ) of Johnson City TN, and Sally Davis Piccione (Jeff) of Ft. Mill SC, and her grandchildren Joseph Robert Davis (Sarah), Charles Edward Davis, James Davis Hayman, and Grace Elizabeth Piccione.

Martha enjoyed reading, history, and antiquing and loved teaching First Aid and CPR as a volunteer for the Red Cross. She grew up in First Baptist Church of Camden and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. In addition, she proudly served on the commission to restore Camden’s historic Price House. Martha was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Her special love was her grandchildren.
