Ms. Martha Walls Lawson 1944-2014 Marti Walls Lawson, 70, of Newnan passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. She was born February 7, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Olen Lee Walls & Martha Bihr Walls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Howard Lawson, Jr., and her son, Joseph Howard Lawson, III. Marti grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas in 3 years with a Bachelor’s Degree in French and English. After graduation, she moved to Paris, France where she attended and graduated from The University of Paris-La Sorbonne. She was a retired educator who taught French & English for many years at The Heritage School in Newnan and Monroe Area High School in Walton County.
Survivors include son, Brittain Ingram Lawson & wife Eleanor of Newnan; granddaughters, Eleanor Cheney Lawson, Martha Blakely Lawson; sister, Marlen Walls Walker & husband Ross of Richardson, TX; brother, Bill Walls of Garland, TX; great-aunt, Barbara Ann Dickson of Texas.
