Marsha Sue (Shirley) Slack, dearly loved, died Friday, July 29, 2022. Marsha dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She scheduled each day around the needs of her children and grandchildren. Never missing a sports game, band concert, art show, or awards ceremony, she was her family’s number-one-fan in all of their endeavors.

The youngest daughter of Lacy and Thelma Shirley, Marsha was born on April 10, 1938 in Northeastern Oklahoma, graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1956 and received her BA from Oklahoma State. She traveled the country in support of her husband’s career as she bore and raised her 3 children in Colorado, California, Maryland, and Virginia, eventually settling in Littleton, Colorado where she made her home for the last 50 years of her life. She led her family as a pillar of strength to lean on, no matter the circumstance.

Outside of her family, she was very devoted to all animals, especially to her dogs. She was home to a Wire Fox Terrier, four Welsh Terriers and two Australian Cattle Dogs over the years. She was an advocate for treating dogs with the highest amount of respect, and for a loving training style that prioritized dogs as companions, not subordinates. Marsha particularly loved the Welsh Terrier breed.

Marsha also was committed to her long-time friendships.

Marsha’s utter love and devotion to her family is her great legacy, and is one that will live on in us. She is loved and remembered by her 3 children: Chuck Slack (Cathy Reilly), Rebecca Sheely (Joseph), and Brad Slack, and her 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She will always be in our hearts.
