Marlys J. Dorsey, 91, of Freeport, died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Freeport Rehabilitation & Care Center.
Born March 2, 1923 in Newkirk, Iowa she was the daughter of Nick and Minnie (Vaus) Oosting. She married Howard A. Dorsey July 11, 1943 and he died July 14, 2001.She was a lifetime Presbyterian with a membership at United Presbyterian Church. She was a past Sunday school teacher. Marlys enjoyed cooking. Marlys worked at Micro Switch and Fullerton Bakery.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Sanner of New Castle, Pennsylvania and Donna (Randy) Harvey of Sycamore; her son, William (Patricia) Dorsey of Freeport; one brother, Erwin Oosting of Westmont; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Geraldine Plapp and one brother, Raymond Oosting.
