Marlin Charles Briggs, 74, of Middletown passed away on Saturday, December 29th at Chestelm in Moodus. Born in Hartford on April 4th, 1933, he was the son of the late Alexander and Lucille (Chase) Briggs from North Adams, MA.

Marlin was a United States Army Veteran in the Korean War until discharge in 1951. He was a journeyman Cabinet Maker by trade, worked for CH Dresser & Son of Hartford for 16 years, worked for Ripley Company in Cromwell for 15 years, as a welder and maintenance supervisor. Marlins hobbies were making model airplanes, running toy trains, and collecting Indian plates. He is survived by one son, Theodore Alexander Briggs of New Britain, ex-wife Amelia B. Kloten of West Hartford; a nephew, Gary Briggs and his wife, Karen of Wethersfield, and a goddaughter, Angela Swol. He was predeceased by a brother, Woodrow Briggs and a sister, Theresa Briggs.
