Marlene Paulsmeyer of Hoffman died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 77 years. She was born on February 1, 1934 in Worthing, South Dakota the daughter of George and Mathilda Abbas.

She married Dean Paulsmeyer in Lennox, South Dakota on May 1, 1955 and he survives.

Marlene is survived by her husband; a daughter: Janice Paulsmeyer of O’Fallon, Illinois; two sons: Boyd Paulsmeyer and wife Karen of Petersburg, Illinois and Owen Paulsmeyer and wife Stephanie of Hoffman; five sisters: Lorna Cornelius of Canton, S.D., Elvera Myrabo of Canton, S.D., Joyce Swenson of Jasper, MN., Elaine Thatcher of Albuquerque, NM and Janice Vaught of Bonne Terre, MO.; seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Mrs. Paulsmeyer was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Evelyn Sheldon; and a brother: Clifford Abbas.

Marlene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and had taught Sunday School for many years. Earlier in her life she had been an upholsterer. She enjoyed sewing, and gardening.
