Marlene Joy Chapman was born November 13, 1936 to George and Margaret Lorenz in Victor, Colorado, one of 15 children. She departed this life on December 4, 2014. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jim Chapman, Sr. in 2010. She is survived by a brother, Johnny (Ruthie) Lorenz of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Marilyn (Dale) Johnson of Memphis, TX and Peggy Rankin of Florissant, CO; son, Jim (Sandra) Chapman, Jr. of Cripple Creek, CO; stepdaughters, Linda (Lenny) Fletcher of Canon City, CO and Penny (Marlan) Bradley of Rush, CO; stepson, Mark (Maureen) Chapman of Canon City, CO; along with nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Marlene graduated from Victor High School in 1954 and married Jim Chapman, Sr. on June 1, 1959. She spent her life as a ranch wife, working beside her husband on the Chapman Ranch. She enjoyed riding horse around their property and traveling around the country, including driving to Alaska.
