Marlene J. Walrath was born on April 7, 1936 to Emory F. and Vera J. Jones at Sacramento, CA. The family moved to Redding, CA in 1939 when her father was employed as a California Highway Patrol officer and was assigned to Redding, CA. Marlene went through schools in Redding, graduating from Shasta Union High School in 1954. She attended Shasta College for one year. She worked as a legal secretary at the law office of Alvin Cibulo at Redding for five years. She moved to Kern County in 1960 and the family moved to Taft in 1962. Marlene was employed at the Taft City School District Administration office from September, 1967 until February, 1976. She was employed as administrative secretary at Maricopa Unified School District in February, 1976 until her retirement in May, 1986. Marlene and her husband, Ray, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and enjoyed the many cruises and other travels to Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Walrath, her parents, Emory F. and Vera J. Jones of Anderson, CA and her brother, William F. Jones of Redding, CA. She is survived by her sons, Derek Dahlgren and wife, Cynthia, of Bakersfield and Robert Dahlgren and wife, Celeste, of MO; granddaughter, Jessa Dahlgren of Taft; grandson, Lucas Dahlgren of MO; one brother, Robert A. Jones and wife, Laurel, of Brentwood, CA; sister-in-law, Nelsyne Jones of Redding, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
