Marlene J. (Mitton) Row, 77, died early Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014, in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. She was born in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Vernon G. and Eva T. (Dyke) Mitton. She graduated from Hagerstown High School with the class of 1955. She attended Indiana University and also received her Tax Practitioner Certificate. Marlene married Eugene “Gene” Row on August 12, 1956.
He preceded her in death on October 6, 1996. Mrs. Row had lived in Upland since 1969. She was the owner and operator of Row Tax Service, Upland, for eight years and was employed for several years at City Savings Bank, Upland. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Marion and the Upland Friends Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mike (Shelly) Row, Albany, Brian (Amy) Row, Marion; two daughters, Debra (Keith) Murray, Upland, Brenda (Brian) Benson, Upland; a brother, Delmer G. (Jean) Mitton, Hagerstown; a sister, Leona (Andy) Lumpkin, Hagerstown; and 11 grandchildren, Tiffany Evans, Tyler Evans, Chelsea Klein, Sean Row, Seth Row, Atalie Murray, Bryce Murray, Kennedy Row, Jada Row, Wyatt Row, and Presley Row; two great grandchildren, Sullivan Row and Savannah Row.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Saylor. Visitation: 4-8 pm, November 20, 2014, Jones-Smith Funeral Home, 259 N.
