Marlene J. Darner age 76, of DeMotte, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Porter Hospital, Valparaiso, IN. She was born on April 23, 1932 in Kersey, IN to Francis J. and Polly Elizabeth (Stevenson) Harrington, both deceased. Marlene was a graduate of Wheatfield High School Class of 1950. On September 16, 1950 she married Daniel E. Darner, Sr, who survives.
Marlene and her husband, Dan operated Dan’s Inn in DeMotte, IN for 6 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, St. Cecilia Sodality, and Ladies Legion Auxiliary, DeMotte, IN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Daniel E. Darner Sr., DeMotte, IN; Loving children; Craig Darner, Columbus, Mississippi; Debra (Richard “Duke”) Thornton, DeMotte, IN; Robin (David G.) Hamstra, DeMotte, IN; Daniel Jr. (Cyndi) Darner, DeMotte and Francesca (Kim) Sell, Wonder Lake, IL; 14 Grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
