Marlene Ann Mathis, 75, of Cairo, MO, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the emergency room at Moberly Regional Medical Center, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born October 11, 1942 in Moberly to Orville and Elva (Edwards) Griffith.

Marlene was a hard worker.  She was a great homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband on the family farm.

Marlene married Curtis Mathis on June 1, 1960 in Jacksonville, MO, and he survives.  Also surviving are her children, Brenda Huntsman of Jacksonville, Mark Mathis and wife Jewell of Cairo; grandchildren, Wesley Huntsman and wife Stephanie, Andy Huntsman and wife Amanda, Calvin Huntsman and wife Kate, Elise Brendel and husband Evan, Caleb Mathis, Olivia Cribb and husband Jacob; seven great-grandsons, Skyler, Brendan, Logan, Chase, and Reed Huntsman, Rhett and Kelly Brendel; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law Tom Huntsman.

Marlene loved gathering with family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandsons were her pride and joy. She was always there to take care of everyone and was the glue that held everyone together.

Marlene was a member of the Liberty Christian Church.
